Top Marks for web site
UK law firm Shepherd and Wedderburn has placed in the top 15% of all businesses in a major UK web research study.
Website monitoring company SiteMorse conducted the survey of over 900 UK-based financial and professional services firms in the first quarter of 2007. It assessed performance on site accessibility, adherence to coding standards, response time and download time.
Shepherd and Wedderburn's site, shepwedd.co.uk, was found to have 100% compliance with the W3C's industry standard Level A accessibility guidelines. The site was also found to be greater than 99% error free in terms of functional features.
Steve Dalgleish, Shepherd and Wedderburn’s e-marketing specialist who managed the relaunch of the firm’s website last year, said: "This survey begins to highlight the benefits the firm has gained from recently relaunching its website. That 100% of the pages on our site are compliant with accessibility guidelines is testament to the hard work put into the website by our team and our digital agency, Line."
Shepherd and Wedderburn placed 111th out of over 900, which puts it ahead of such companies as Tesco Personal Finance, Standard Life, Scottish Equitable and Scottish Widows. The survey also puts shepwedd.co.uk ahead of the sites of its Big Four competitors - Maclay Murray and Spens (ranked 135th), McGrigors (153rd) and Dundas and Wilson (299th).
