Shepherd and Wedderburn Property Star Revealed
In a new list of rising stars, David Mitchell, an Edinburgh-based partner at Shepherd and Wedderburn is the only property lawyer in the UK to be tipped for the top. He has been highlighted as one of the UK’s FTSE advisers rising stars, in the list released by legal publishers, Chambers UK.
David was made a partner at the firm in 2006, 10 years after joining Shepherd and Wedderburn as a trainee.
In that time he has acted on some of Scotland's larger commercial property deals, including helping represent FTSE listed clients such as British Land (along with Hercules Unit Trust) on the transfer of Edinburgh's £750 million Fort Kinnaird retail park to a new joint venture with the Crown Estate. Most recently he has been advising BAE Systems on the Scottish property issues arising from its shipbuilding joint venture with VT Group.
According to Chambers, his clients rate him as "efficient and knowledgeable about his area in impressive detail."
Patrick Andrews, chief executive of the firm, commented: “It’s fantastic that David has been highlighted as one of the most talented up-and-coming property lawyers in the UK.”
