Debate aims to address procurement options for Scots construction businesses
Businesses operating in the Scottish construction industry are being invited to take part in a debate that aims to assess the range and effectiveness of available procurement options.
Hosted by legal specialists from Shepherd and Wedderburn’s Construction and Special Projects group, the morning debates will take place on 22 March at the law firm’s Saltire Court office in Edinburgh and on 23 March in The Lighthouse Conference Centre, Mitchell lane in Glasgow.
The event will be based on a scenario with cases being put forward for options such as traditional contracting, design and build (including novation), and construction management and management contracting. Consideration of frameworks and partnering agreements and what happens if businesses end up in court will also be covered.
A number of Scotland’s leading construction companies have confirmed attendance and the audience is also likely to include developers, contractors, sub-contractors, funders, insurance advisors.
Speakers from Shepherd and Wedderburn’s Construction and Special Projects group will include partners Kevin Taylor, Chris Arnold, Lynne Mendelsohn and David Anderson, and Associates Euan McLeod and Lynne Scott.
Entrance to the debates, which takes place between 8.30am and 11.00am on both days, is free and a limited number of tickets are available from Angela Cleary on 0141-566 8521 or on angela.cleary@shepwedd.co.uk.
