Shepherd and Wedderburn host the Chicago Bar Association

As part of the Chicago Bar Association’s London CLE meeting, Shepherd and Wedderburn hosted a welcome reception on the evening of 10 March. Shepherd and Wedderburn Chairman Paul Hally’s opening speech reflected upon the long-standing relationship the firm enjoys with firms in the US and North America, recognising the significant workflow between our countries.

The reception was attended by several pre-eminent US practitioners, including members of the Chicago Federal and State Court judiciary, Judge William Joseph Bauer, Senior Judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit in Chicago and Judge Timothy C Evans, Chief Judge of the Cook County Circuit Court in the State of Illinois.

Dan Kotin, partner and trial lawyer in the Chicago firm, Tomasik Kotin Kasserman, currently president of the CBA thanked Shepherd and Wedderburn for its hospitality, with particular reference to his former class mate, Jane Wessel, a partner  in Shepherd and Wedderburn’s Arbitration and Disputes Resolution team, known to many of the delegates, having qualified and practised for some years at the Chicago bar.
