Shepherd and Wedderburn sponsor SOLAR Annual Conference

Shepherd and Wedderburn is delighted to sponsor the annual conference of Society of Local Authority Solicitors and Administrators in Scotland (SOLAR).  The event takes place in Ayrshire on 26 and 27 March, and will bring together attendees from local authorities from all over Scotland.

Rhona Harper, Head of Public Sector Group, at Shepherd and Wedderburn will speak at the event on the subject of the future of governance in Scotland 2015. During the course of her presentation, she will consider the current governance landscape in the wake of the Referendum and Smith Commission recommendations. In the run up to a Westminster election where, for the first time, devolution in the wider UK is making its presence felt, she will provide some insight as to what we can expect in terms of changes to the governance of Scotland in the short and medium term.

Other speakers at the event include Marco Biagi MSP, Minister for Local Government and Community Empowerment, Lord Wallace, Bill Thomson Commissioner for Ethical Standards and Mrs Sandra Black, recently appointed Chief Executive at Renfrewshire Council.
