As a member of the banking and finance team, James deals with all aspects of banking work and specialises in the following practice areas:
- Funds finance: James regularly advises UK and US financial institutions on leveraged and unsecured facilities involving Scottish limited partnerships in existing and new fund structures.
- Securitisation and structured finance: James acts for UK lending institutions on covered bond and master trust RMBS securitisation structures.
- Asset-based lending and receivables financing: James advises on the Scottish aspects of receivables financing across a number of asset classes, including auto-receivables and unsecured consumer lending.
- Cross-border finance: James also advises on the Scottish elements of cross-jurisdictional transactions and matters involving Scottish companies on referral from leading City of London law firms.
In addition, James is a part of our wider legal technology team and has worked with a major UK Bank to deliver systems-based process and operational improvements to the delivery of legal services.
James is admitted as a solicitor in Scotland.
